Chartered Accountant:
Chartered Accountants deals with tax management as well as company and other financial audits. They prepare balance sheets, manages accounts of clients, helps clients to register as legal entity and gets all his tax compliance’s done. They also provide consultancy services when there are inspections by Income Tax. They are also experts in Company law and provide certification services. They are members of ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India).

Pay Package:  3.00 Lakhs to 19 Lakhs per annum & increasing

Admission Procedure: There are 3 stages in CA course CA-CPT, IPCC, FINAL.

A student of Std X or Std XII with Science or Commerce can register for the CPT (Common Proficiency Test) Course whose exams are held in every June & December. After cracking CPT, student will be admitted in IPCC whose exams will be conducted in May & November. After clearing IPCC {in at least 1 group (out of 2 groups)} student will have to register for internship for a period of 36 months with a Practicing CA and prepare for his final exams. After clearing Final exams he will become a Chartered Accountant with a membership from ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India).

Work of a Chartered Accountant:

They conduct audits by collecting financial information of the Company. Their work is to see that financial information disclosed by the company is true & fair & there are no frauds in financial inflows or outflows. They also calculate the effective tax which the company has to pay with the income tax department. They are concise keepers of books of accounts and prepare various audit reports as they are provided such rights by the statutory bodies.

They also advise companies of how tax benefits can be taken with the help of deductions provided in laws and ensure that the tax compliance’s are met with.

They maintain all books of accounts of the company and calculate all expenditures, assets & liabilities of the company along with profit or loss and submit it to the required departments.

They also act as Tax Consultants, advisors in Company law matters, amalgamations and mergers, prepare project reports, work for approving loans and act mainly as auditors of the Company.

Employment Opportunities:

Company Law has provided certification rights to chartered Accountants, and according to company law every new company formed has to appoint a CA within 15 days of formation thus they can set up their own independent practice and become auditors of the company. They have rights to appear before competition commission, TRAI, IRDA, Income tax authorities, Excise & custom departments, and various other regulatory bodies. They provide various certification in matters of income tax, Company law, Excise & Customs and various other bodies.
